Hirado Castle, also known as Kameoka Castle, is a historic castle in Hirado, Japan. It stands on Kameoka Hill facing the Hirado Strait and is surrounded by the sea on three sides. This natural setting made Hirado Castle easy to defend.

The history of Hirado Castle began in 1599, when Shigenobu Matsuura built Hinotake Castle on this site. Later, the fifth lord of the Hirado Domain, Takashi Matsuura, began construction of a new castle in 1704. Hirado Castle was completed in 1718.

Hirado Castle features many defensive designs, including curved stone walls and carefully planned gates. The current Castle keep is a reconstructed structure built in 1962.

Visitors to Hirado Castle can enjoy panoramic views of Hirado Port and Hirado Bridge from the Castle keep. Hirado prospered through international trade for centuries and was influenced by foreign cultures. Nearby attractions include the Dutch Trading Post ruins and St. Francis Xavier Memorial Church, making Hirado Castle an excellent destination for exploring Japanese history and cultural exchange.
